Hamiki’s published starting guides are KSh 45,000 for a hydrogeological survey and KSh 6,500 per metre for suitable drilling conditions. Final scope follows the survey, geology and borehole design.

What changes the figure
- Geology and drilling method
Competent rock and loose formations require different methods and consumables. - Casing and screen design
Diameter, casing depth, material and aquifer intervals alter the construction cost. - Mobilisation and access
Distance, road condition, working space, water supply and security affect logistics. - Completion scope
Development, testing, water analysis, pump, power, storage and distribution are separate from drilling metres.

A low per-metre number can exclude essential construction or completion items. Compare written scopes, not only headline prices.
